If your Motorbike will not start at home, a Rescue Operator will come and spend up to one hour to fix it. If it cannot be repaired, it will be taken to a local garage.
Roadside Assistance
Assistance anywhere in the UK with a network of over 3,500 technicians and an average response time of 35 minutes. We will spend up to an hour at the roadside trying to fix the vehicle.
National Recovery
If your Motorbike can’t be fixed at the roadside it can be taken to a local garage, your final destination or back home.
Onward Travel
Alternative travel for the rider and passengers, this can include car hire and/or emergency overnight accommodation.
The Vehicle is Covered
Anyone insured to drive the Motorbike is covered for the breakdown assistance.

Questions
Motorbike breakdowns are nothing short of stressful and frustrating, but it’s important you know what to do if the situation ever arises to help keep yourself and other road users safe.
If your motorcycle won’t start up at home, simply give us a call and we’ll come out to assess the issue and try our best to resolve it.
If you break down whilst you’re out and about – due to a punctured tyre or flat battery, for example – then you’ll need to do a few things before you call us.
First, try to stop your bike in the safest possible place, away from busy junctions, or on the hard shoulder if you’re on the motorway and can’t make it to the next exit or service station.
Once you’ve pulled over safely, give us a call on 01704 225588 and we’ll send one of our recovery operators to help right away. We should be there within the hour, but while you’re waiting for us to arrive, turn on your hazard lights (if you have them), switch your parking lights on if it’s night-time or visibility is low, and DO NOT try to make any repairs yourself.
When we arrive, we’ll try our best to resolve the issue in an hour – but if we’re unable to do so, we’ll take your motorcycle to a local garage and arrange alternative travel and/or emergency accommodation for you if you’re far from home.
Here at Driver Guardian, we only ever sell full motorcycle breakdown cover – meaning your policy has everything you need if your motorbike breaks down unexpectedly.
This includes:
• Homestart – if your motorbike breaks down at home as you’re setting off on your travels for the day, we’ll come and spend up to an hour to fix it. If for any reason we aren’t able to repair your motorcycle, we’ll take it to a local garage for further inspection.
• Roadside assistance – we’ll attend to your breakdown no matter where you are in the UK and try to repair your motorbike within an hour.
• Motorbike recovery – if we can’t repair your motorbike at the roadside, we’ll tow it to a local garage to be repaired quickly so you can continue your journey. For more serious breakdowns, motorbike recovery to your home or destination is also included.
• Onward travel – if you’ve got a complex breakdown on your hands that’ll take more than an hour to fix, we can arrange alternative travel and emergency overnight accommodation if necessary.
• Renewal reminders – a month before your policy expires, we’ll send you a renewal reminder so that you can be sure you’re covered at all times.
At Driver Guardian, we offer two different types of policies, including standard motorcycle breakdown cover and personal cover.
Personal cover includes everything our standard policies do, but the cover applies to you as a person, rather than a specific vehicle.
The only vehicle details you need to provide us with if you opt for personal breakdown cover is the vehicle you use the most, its age, and its mileage – and with this policy, you can cover up to four people living at the same address.
